Belgium-based LindaCare, a software company specializing in remote patient monitoring for chronic heart disease patients, announced today that it will open a new customer support facility in Connecticut after receiving a $500,000 investment from Connecticut Innovations in October.
The investment was awarded during CI’s VentureClash investment challenge.
LindaCare is considering a few locations in Hartford and New Haven for its facility, which it expects to open this quarter, Shahram Sharif, CEO and founder of LindaCare, said in an email.
“LindaCare’s mission is to reduce the cost of delivery of care and improve quality of care and patient safety for chronic disease management through remote patient monitoring,” Sharif said in a news release. “Recent changes in insurance programs have created a huge demand shift that will drive this market forward rapidly. This, combined with the validation of our business model by CI creates a huge opportunity for LindaCare in the U.S. market.”
LindaCare’s first version of the product is a web-based software for the remote patient monitoring of patients with cardiac implanted electronic devices (CIEDs) and suffering from chronic heart failure (CHF) and cardiac arrhythmia. These conditions affect about 10 million patients worldwide.
The Connecticut office will initially comprise four sales and customer support professionals with a planned rollout of additional localized support across the U.S. later in the year, LindaCare said. In his email, Sharif said the Connecticut office is “very likely to grow” beyond the initial four staffers.
