Bear’s Smokehouse Barbecue is coming to Dunkin’ Donuts Park. The Hartford BBQ restaurant will be the sponsor of the left field barbecue deck and have many of its authentic Kansas City style BBQ favorites available to Yard Goats fans.
Bear’s Smokehouse Barbecue was rated excellent by the New York Times and voted Best Ribs, Best New Restaurant and Best BBQ by CTNOW, Hartford Magazine and Connecticut Magazine. It was also named the Best Casual Restaurant by Connecticut Restaurant Association.
Yard Goats General Manager Tim Restall said today in a statement, “Bear’s is widely known as having the best barbecue in Connecticut and I can see their left field barbecue deck being a popular spot at our games. It was important for us to have a local Hartford brand like Bear’s inside Dunkin’ Donuts Park.”
Bear’s Smokehouse Barbecue is a family owned restaurant launched in 2013 by competitive eating champion Jamie “Bear” McDonald, who holds several competitive eating records, and his wife Cheryl. There are currently two Bear’s Smokehouse Barbecue locations, 89 Arch Street in Hartford and 2152 Poquonock Ave. in Windsor and a third set to open in South Windsor. The restaurants offer a wide selection of wood smoked, Kansas City styled barbecue as well as sauces and sides.
