Marketing pro Sam Barrett has been named director of business development and marketing at Connecticut advertising and communications firm CashmanKatz.
Barrett joins the Glastonbury-based agency after serving as head of business development and marketing at Rebellion Group, where he also acted as executive producer of the firm’s state-focused event series “Shaping CT’s Future” and “CT Season Pass.”
In his new role, Barrett will oversee CashmanKatz’s marketing strategy and lead efforts to expand its client base.
Barrett’s career spans senior roles at media companies and agencies in the U.S. and U.K. He was previously managing director at London’s Social Chain Media, group head of sales for LadBible, and head of business development at Takumi, a micro-influencer agency.
A U.S. Army veteran, Barrett served four years with the 2nd Ranger Battalion and later founded The Seattle Stand Down, a nonprofit that provides housing and other support services to homeless veterans.
Barrett earned degrees from London Metropolitan University and Birkbeck, University of London.
