Barnes Group, the Bristol manufacturer best known for components used to make jets and other machinery, is pitching what it thinks will be this season’s most popular product-catalog — items for keeping industrial work sites flu free.
Face masks, rubber gloves, tissue, hand soaps and sanitizer, are among 32 “germ fighters” listed in a six-page “Cold and Flu Flyer” circulating worldwide from Barnes Distribution, the company’s logistics and supply arm.
The flyer cites the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention‘s claim that seasonal flu and H1N1 flu viruses are thought to spread mainly from person to person through coughing or sneezing of people with influenza.
“Especially this year, Barnes Distribution strives to support businesses taking measures to ensure their employees are not adversely impacted by a flu virus,” Chris Paczak, director of product marketing for Barnes Distribution, North America, said in a statement.
