Bristol-based Barnes Aerospace has acquired a Scottish turbine repair company, establishing its first European operation dedicated to repairing and overhauling aircraft engine components.
The private equity-backed company on Thursday announced its purchase of ATL Turbine Services Ltd., based in Dundee, Scotland. Financial terms were not disclosed.
ATL has more than 30 years of experience repairing gas turbine components exposed to high temperatures. It provides engineering, inspection, repair and protective coating services for parts used in commercial and military aircraft, industrial turbines and marine applications.
Barnes said the acquisition gives it a European base to serve repair customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The deal follows Barnes Aerospace’s August acquisition of Kansas-based Jet AirWerks, which provides inspection, repair, overhaul and disassembly services for commercial aircraft engine components. Founded in 2007, Jet AirWerks primarily services components for engines made by GE Aerospace and CFM International.
Private equity firm Apollo Global Management acquired Barnes Group in January 2025 for $3.6 billion and divided it into two businesses: Barnes Aerospace and The Industrial Solutions Group.
Barnes Aerospace, led by CEO Mike Mosley since January 2026, manufactures and repairs aircraft engine components for engine manufacturers, maintenance providers and airlines.
