Barnes Group Inc. posted flat first-quarter earnings but sales rose 6 percent for the Bristol aerospace- and automotive-parts manufacturer and logistics services operator.
Barnes earned $11.8 million, or 21 cents a share, in the three months ended march 31, up from $11.5 million, or 22 cents a share, earned the same period last year.
Sales rose to $278.1 million in the latest quarter from  $262.2 million a year ago.
CEO Gregory F. Milzcik said the company benefitted from better manufacturing margins and sales opportunities.
Milzcik said the company  boosted its full-year earnings outlook  to the range of $0.90 to $1.10.
