Bantam heating oil provider Bantam Fuel was honored by the National Biodiesel Board in late 2010 for the company’s commitment to offer biodiesel as an alternative to heating oil.
To offer a product with less carbon emissions, four years ago Bantam started providing its BioHeat product that is a mix of premium heating oil and 5 percent organic biodiesel.
For the company’s efforts, the National Biodiesel Board called the company one of six national success stories in the country’s future in biodiesel.
In March, former Gov. M. Jodi Rell signed a bill into law requiring all heating oil to have a 20 percent biodiesel component by 2020.
