New Canaan’s Bankwell Financial, parent of Bankwell Bank, said it has completed its acquisition of Quinnipiac Bank & Trust Company.
The approximately $15 million deal was first announced in April, and approved by regulators and shareholders last month.
It is Bankwell’s first branch holding outside Fairfield County.
Former Quinnipiac Bank CEO Mark A. Candido will continue to lead the institution. His new titles are Bankwell senior vice president and president of its New Haven County region.
