Bankrupt Bob’s eyes closing 9 CT stores

Bankrupt Meriden apparel-sporting goods retailer Bob’s Stores proposes shutting nine of its Connecticut, according to its parent’s bankruptcy filing.

All told, parent Eastern Outfitters LLC is asking the bankruptcy court for permission to close 48 of its 86 Northeast stores.

The company says it expects to close the Bob’s Stores in Middletown, the company’s first store location, as well as Danbury, Enfield, Fairfield, Hamden, Manchester, Milford, Simsbury, and Waterford.

Also proposed for closure are Eastern Mountain Sports stores in Fairfield and Manchester.
