Bank of America recently presented a $65,000 check to United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut at its “Power of the Purse” luncheon. The grant will be used to support the Family Financial Center at Alfred E. Burr School, one of the Hartford Community Schools. The center opened in the fall of 2011 and provides bilingual services such as credit and budget workshops, one-on-one financial coaching and counseling, referral services and matched savings programs.
