Joseph Balskus, a certified professional traffic operations engineer, has joined the Wethersfield office of the VHB engineering firm as director of transportation systems. Balskus will oversee transportation system projects involving complete streets, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, traffic signal systems, modern roundabouts, and roadway/intersection reconstruction.
Balskus recently served as a traffic consultant supporting the permitting and local approvals for a planned $300 million mixed-use transit-oriented development at the gateway to New Haven’s downtown.
