Backlog of orders for EDAC

Farmington-based aerospace manufacturer EDAC Technologies Corp. said it has received $9.8 million in 2007 orders for aerospace parts, and had another customer send a letter of intent to make a $4.5 million purchase. To handle the new orders the company, which designs and makes tools, fixtures, jet engine components and other parts, plans to spend $3.7 million this year for new manufacturing machinery and equipment. EDAC posted $2.8 million in operating income for last year.
