Hartford’s Back9Network, a fledgling golf lifestyle television network, said it has hired Ahmad Rashad as an executive producer and on-air host.
Rashad, who played in the NFL for 10 years and moved into sports broadcasting post-retirement, had been co-hosting ‘Morning Drive’ on the Golf Channel.
“Back9Network is a special opportunity that I simply could not pass up,” Rashad said in a statement.
Rashad will be a member of the network’s creative and executive teams, helping to shape the network’s programming, Back9Network said. He will produce and execute coverage from golf majors and other venues around the world.
Back9Network debuted in 2012 and is based in the “Boat Building” downtown.
