Babkirk takes helm as leader of Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce

The Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce announced that Dee Babkirk was hired as its new President and CEO last month.

Babkirk, who will lead the more than 300-member chamber based in New Britain, takes over for Bill Moore, who stepped down. The chamber serves members in New Britain, Berlin and surrounding communities.

“Dee really stood out because of her experience in both the chamber world and manufacturing management,” Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce Vice Chairman Kyle Kummer said in a statement. “Her vision for the future of the chamber is just what we were looking for.”

Babkirk previously worked for the Bristol-based Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce, where she was the executive director of two manufacturing associations, the New England Spring and Metalstamping, and Connecticut Tooling and Machining associations.
