Boston health educator and consultant Lynn Babington is the new dean of Fairfield University’s School of Nursing.
Babington begins her duties this summer, succeeding Jeanne M. Novotny, who stepped aside last year.
Babington held numerous leadership positions at Northeastern University in Boston.
She has international experience as a Fulbright Scholar in Israel, and has worked in the U.S. with immigrants from the Dominican Republic and Vietnam.
A Detroit native, Babington has a Ph.D. and a MS in nursing from the University of Washington, and a BSN from the University of Michigan. She also has taught at Winston-Salem State University, University of North Carolina, University of Washington and University of California, San Francisco.Â
She also has spent three decades as a health care consultant, with clients including Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Tufts Medical Center, both in Boston.
