Rocky Hill-based Axsys Technologies Inc. has received a new $13.5 million infrared lens order for the U.S. Army’s Thermal Weapon Sight II Bridge program.
The majority of this order is expected to ship in 2009.
“This new order solidifies Axsys’ position as the premier supplier of infrared lenses for the Thermal Weapons Sight, one of the U.S. military’s most important infrared programs,” Scott B. Conner, president and COO of Axsys, said in a statement. “Axsys’ recently announced expansion in the southern New Hampshire area will provide the additional capacity for both this program specifically, and the continuing growth of the infrared industry in general.”
