Axsys Technologies Inc. is taking on a massive production order of $21.9 million in infrared imaging lenses as part of the U.S. Army’s Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) program.
The order came from BAE Systems, and BAE has the option to order more quantities in the next five years – as much as $87 million. Axsys chairman and CEO Stephen Bershad said today that the contract award is a sign of the company’s increasing prominence in the infrared industry.
