Norcom Mortgage & Insurance has moved headquarters and staff less than a mile and a half to its newly renovated building at 38 Security Drive in Avon.
Norcom bought the 36,000-square-foot building last May and – using a $250,000 state loan and $100,000 state grant – refurbished it.
The loan will be forgiven if the 23-year-old company hires 10 new workers within an unspecified term, Founder-President Philip DeFronzo said.
Monday was the first day in the building for many of its 85 workers — 35 of whom have been hired in the past year, a spokesman said.

Its previous Avon address was 139 Simsbury Road.
