Avon’s Magellan Health Services Inc. says it has launched a program for lowering drug costs to consumers and health plans.
Magellan Pharmacy Solutions said Wednesday its Total Drug Solutions program offers an integrated approach to managing all drugs – oral, injectable and infusible – to improve the quality and safety of care while lowering costs.
“Historically, patients have received standard medications and specialty drugs in a disconnected and uncoordinated fashion,” said Magellan Pharmacy President Tina Blasi. “This lack of integration presents safety risks, decreases therapeutic effectiveness and unnecessarily increases costs.”
Magellan said it also introduced a new website, www.TotalDrugSolutions.com, where health plans, employers and government agencies can learn more about the suite of services.
