The Avon Water Co., which serves about 5,000 customers, raised its rates 1.43 percent on Tuesday, according to a final decision issued by the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority.
PURA approved the rate adjustment on March 26 to account for the water company’s shortfall in revenue of $53,746 in 2013.
The rate increase will mean a customer’s quarterly bill will rise $1.62, if that customer uses the average of 18,000 gallons of water each quarter.
