Avelo Airlines is debuting a new nonstop route to New Orleans and doubling its flight service to Puerto Rico this winter, the company announced.
The new route, from Tweed-New Haven Airport to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, will run Thursdays and Sundays beginning Nov. 14. The week prior on Nov. 8, Avelo will begin a ramped-up schedule to Luis Muñoz MarÃn International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with four days of weekly service on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Avelo’s new and increased service at Tweed comes just a few weeks after the airline announced a massive expansion to Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks. Beginning in November, Avelo will operate seven new nonstop routes out of the airport and have two airplanes based there.
The airline said it also plans to double its aircraft capacity at Tweed in November, increasing its fleet size to eight at the airport.
