AT&T announced today that it invested $100 million in upgrades in the Hartford area from 2013 to 2015 in its wireless and wired networks.
The company said in a statement the investment was made to enhance reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and businesses. In 2015, AT&T made three wireless network upgrades in Hartford area, covering Hartford, East Hartford and West Hartford, including boosting its wireless network at Westfarms Mall.
“We’re committed to providing our customers fast, reliable, highly secure connectivity. We want them to be able to access the Internet at any moment, from almost any device and from anywhere,” said John Emra, president, AT&T Connecticut. “Our continued investment in the Hartford area brings a host of new, innovative opportunities for residents and businesses.”
AT&T announced earlier this year http://www.hartfordbusiness.com/article/20160215/NEWS01/302159965 it will begin testing 5G wireless service. It also plans to start selling cable TV subscriptions over the Internet.
