ATMI’s Doug Neugold stays SEMI chairman

Doug Neugold, chairman and CEO of Danbury semiconductor-components maker ATMI Inc., will chair the international board of the world’s semiconductor-supply chain support group for a second consecutive year.

Neugold accepted SEMI’s invitation for a second term, ATMI said Tuesday.

He has served on the SEMI board for 12 years, including positions on the executive committee, as vice chairman.

SEMI’s 20 voting directors, three non-voting members, and 11 emeritus directors, represent companies from Europe, China, Japan, Korea, North America, and Taiwan, reflecting the global scope of the association’s activities.

Separately, Ellen T. Harmon stepped down, effective immediately on June 28, as ATMI executive vice president, chief legal officer, corporate secretary and compliance chief, according to the company’s 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The filing gave no explanation for Harmon’s exit and no immediate successor was named. The company did not immediately return a phone call Tuesday for comment.
