Ascend Bank will close a branch in Madison at the end of March.
The Guilford-based bank filed notice with the state Department of Banking of its intent to permanently close the branch at 494 Old Toll Road in Madison on March 30, 2026.
Ascend was formed when Guilford Savings Bank merged with Eastern Connecticut Savings Bank in October and rebranded itself.
At the time of the merger the bank said that its clients would notice no immediate changes to branches or services.

Ascend is a $1.4 billion bank with 25,000 accounts. Guilford Savings Bank had been operating since 1875.
