Buyers of Hartford region houses ramped up their purchases in June, but prices remain soft and days on the market lengthened, area Realtors say.
Sales of single-family houses rose 12 percent last month to 1,196 units vs. 1,071 a year ago, the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors said Wednesday.
The June median sale price of an area house fell to $229,950, down nearly 2 percent from the June 2014 median, the association said.
The average days a Hartford region house sat unsold rose to 70 days from 63 days a year ago.
Condo sales dropped 4.4 percent to 263 units vs. 275. Median condo prices, too, fell nearly 2 percent, to $210,000. Average days unsold were about even at 85 — one day shorter than in June 2014, Realtors said.
