Thomaston Savings Bank, Guilford Savings Bank, Ion Bank and others were among the winners at the 2019 Banking Choice Awards, presented June 28 as part of the New England-wide Best Bank Expo at the MGM Springfield in western Massachusetts.
The Banking Choice Awards are presented by American Business Media and Customer Experience Solutions LLC, which tracks customer satisfaction with financial institutions.
Statewide winners in Connecticut included Thomaston Savings Bank, which was named tops in “Overall Quality” and “Technology & Tools.” Other Connecticut statewide winners included Berkshire Bank, which has nine branches in the Hartford area, and Chelsea Groton Bank, headquartered in Groton.
Thomaston Savings also topped regional winners for customer service in the south-central Connecticut region. Second place finisher in that category was Naugatuck-headquartered Ion Bank. Guilford Savings Bank was ranked third for customer service among regional banks.
In the category of Technology & Tools, regional winners included TD Bank and Chase Bank, in addition to Thomaston Savings. Among regional banks the Milford Bank was also cited with a Community Contribution Award.
