Greater Hartford home and condo sales fell and prices flattened in August from a year earlier, Realtors say.
Single-family home sales fell 10.2 percent, to 678 units vs. 755 units sold the same month in 2018, the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors (GHAR) said late Tuesday.
Median house prices were unchanged last month from a year ago, at $254,900, Realtors said.
Condo sales fell 5.7 percent to 164 units from 174 sold a year ago, and their median price fell 3 percent, to $160,000, brokers said.
Despite the drop in house and condo sales last month, overall housing sales so far continue slightly ahead of the first eight months of 2018, Realtors said.
“The drop in closed sales is countered by the rise in pending, which should make for an interesting fall market,” said GHAR CEO Holly Callanan.
