Bridgeport’s Aquarion Water Co. has completed its $38.5 milion buyout of United Water Co.’s western Connecticut water works.
The state Public Utilities Regulatory Authority signed off on the sale, United Water said.
The division of Suez Environment provided water to about 24,000 customers in New Milford, Newtown, Brookfield, Bethel and Woodbury.
Aquarion, which bought operations of two other Connecticut water providers earlier this year, serves more than 625,000 people in 47 cities and towns throughout Connecticut’s Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex and New London.
