Happy April’s Fools Day – or should we say, watch out! A new Careerbuilder.com survey of more than 6,800 workers found that 32 percent of workers have either initiated or been on the receiving end of an April Fool’s Day prank at work.
Some of the more common jokes include covering someone’s cubicle with foil, faking resignations or gluing office supplies to desks. But some pranksters have taken the holiday even further. One worker reported filling the office vending machine with cans of beer. Another adjusted the sprayer in the kitchen sink to squirt co-workers when they turned on the water. And another shrink-wrapped everything in a co-worker’s cubicle.
Jokes also got personal, with one employee calling the electric company, using a co-worker’s name and personal information and getting the electricity turned off in the co-worker’s home.
