Klonoski previously was president of the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium. Charter Oak State College also appointed Shirley M. Adams provost. Adams was formerly vice president of academic affairs at the college.
The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. in Hartford hired Connie Weaver as senior vice president of marketing and communications. Weaver most recently was executive vice president and chief marketing officer at BearingPoint.
Alena C. Gfeller was elected partner at Murtha Cullina in Hartford. Gfeller represents clients in commercial law and litigation at the firm.
Allan S. Friedland was named partner at Jackson Lewis in Hartford. Friedland is benefits counsel at the firm.
Danny Korkmaz joined the Eastern Connecticut Health Network in Manchester as a cardiologist. Korkmaz was most recently a fellow in cardiology and interventional cardiology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Sanjay Kumar was hired by the network as an orthopedic surgeon. Kumar was previously chief resident at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center.
William T. Marshall III was named director of trauma at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. Marshall was formerly associate director of trauma and critical care at the hospital.
Prudential Retirement in Hartford appointed James K. Cornell senior vice president and chief marketing officer and Frank Waltman head of the investment products team. Cornell was formerly senior vice president of institutional marketing at Fidelity Investments. Waltman was previously with Phoenix Investment Partners in product development and product management.
Kaman Corp. in Bloomfield announced Neal J. Keating as chairman of the board of directors. Keating will also continue his role as president and chief executive officer at the company.
David S. Federman, founding partner and managing partner at Federman, Lally & Remis in Farmington, was elected to the national board of directors of the Arthritis Foundation. Federman will also serve on the national audit committee.
