Apria Healthcare in Cromwell has notified the state that it will lay off 15 workers by the end of April.
Apria, which is a California-based healthcare products and services provider, notified the Connecticut Department of Labor about the job cuts earlier this month.
It was unclear Tuesday why Apria is reducing its Connecticut workforce, but according to Tampa Bay Online.com, the company has been “restructuring its operations and outsourcing some work overseas.”
Tampa Bay Online.com reported in February that Apria planned to cut as many as 79 jobs in that Florida region.
The Connecticut jobs to be shed include customer service specialists, and several supervisor and/or manager positions, according to the labor agency.
An Apria official could not be immediately reached for comment this morning.
According to Apria’s Web site, it offers home respiratory and infusion therapy, and home medical equipment services through a national network of more than 11,000 health professionals in more than 504 branches.
