Faced with a June 30 deadline, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Connecticut and New Milford Hospital have agreed on a new network contract.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed but the agreement will maintain New Milford Hospital’s participation in Anthem’s networks without interruption.Â
Anthem recently notified members that its contract with the Litchfield County hospital was set to expire at the end of the month. As part of the negotiations, Anthem officials said the insurer was trying to adopt changes in its payment methods that would incorporate more of a pay-for-performance model.
As part of the agreement, New Milford Hospital will continue to participate in Anthem’s Quality-In-Sights: Hospital Incentive Program, which is designed to measure health care quality and to improve patient safety.
