Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield said it has added St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center to its network of providers that accepts health insurance plans offered on the state’s Access Health CT exchange.
Anthem said the addition means its members with exchange plans will have more access to in-network providers in Greater Hartford starting Oct. 1.
Anthem’s commercial plans already include in-network access to St. Francis and its affiliated entities, which include Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital, Collaborative Laboratory Services, and the St. Francis Behavioral Health Group.
The announcement comes as Anthem and Hartford Healthcare approach a deadline in their own negotiations. Anthem warned in August of a possible split with the five-hospital system.
