Ansonia submersible pump manufacturer HOMA Pump Technology has installed a 104 kilowatt solar array on top of its headquarters.
The system is expected to generate 125,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually, which will offset 84 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, the equivalent of removing 480 cars from the road, according to estimates provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
HOMA received a 15-year contract under Connecticut’s Zero-emissions Renewable Energy Credit program to sell the credits generated by the renewable power to local utilities.
Ross Solar Group of Danbury served as the installer on the project.
