Greater Hartford motorists hitting the road for the upcoming holiday weekend received reprieve at the pump this week, similar to a price drop leading up to Thanksgiving.
On Wednesday, the price per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Greater Hartford was $3.482, down more than 3 cents from a week ago, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
This pre-Christmas price drop mirrors the 6 cents drop the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, giving holiday travelers a break at the pump. The price per gallon of regular unleaded then was $3.592.
Gasoline prices have been dropping steadily since the end of summer, when Greater Hartford motorists were paying north of $4 per gallon.
