Greater Hartford gasoline prices fell more than 10 cents in the past two weeks, as last week’s pre-Thanksgiving drop was nearly matched by a post-holiday decrease.
The price per gallon of unleaded gasoline fell to $3.544 on Wednesday, down from $3.592 on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Two weeks ago, the price was $3.651 per gallon.
The one-week drop of 4.8 cents per gallon and two-week drop of 10.7 cents per gallon came after prices in early November and late October decreased only modestly.
Despite this large decrease at the end of the month, gasoline remain far above its cost from a year ago, when the price per gallon of regular unleaded had started trending above $3. One year ago today, the cost of gasoline was $3.135.
