Wallingford’s Amphenol has agreed to acquire Trexon, a Boston-based maker of cable assembly products, in a $1 billion deal.
Amphenol, which makes electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors, antennas, sensors and high-speed specialty cable, says Trexon is expected to have 2025 sales of approximately $290 million.
“Trexon’s unique portfolio of high-reliability cable assembly products will be highly complementary to our existing offerings in the defense market,” said Amphenol President and Chief Executive Officer, R. Adam Norwitt. “We look forward to working in partnership with Trexon’s experienced management team to deliver additional high-technology solutions to our customers post closing.”
Trexon has facilities in the U.S. and the U.K.
The deal is subject to certain regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. Amphenol said it will finance the acquisition with cash on hand and expects to close in the fourth quarter of 2025.
It’s just the latest in a string of acquisitions for the Wallingford company
Earlier this month, it announced it was buying Connectivity and Cable Solutions (CCS) from CommScope for $10.5 billion, the third business unit it had acquired from its North Carolina rival.
It bought New York-based Narda-MITEQ in May, a maker of active radio frequency interconnect components
