Amphenol, the Wallingford-based connectors manufacturer, said Wednesday its fourth quarter profits grew 4 percent, and its 2015 profits rose 7.9 percent.
Fourth-quarter net income was $202.6 million, or 63 cent per share, compared to $194.8 million, or 63 cents per share, in 2014. Annual net income for 2015 was $772.3 million, or $2.43 per share, versus $715.2 million, or $2.25 per share, in 2014.
Sales for the full year ended Dec. 31, 2015 were $5.6 billion compared to $5.3 billion in the year-ago period. Currency translation decreased sales by approximately $190 million for the full year 2015 compared to.
Amphenol’s fourth quarter sales were flat at $1.4 billion. Currency translation decreased sales by approximately $41 million in the fourth quarter of 2015 compared to 2014.
Amphenol President and CEO R. Adam Norwitt said in the earnings announcement the company anticipates sales growth of 4 to 7 percent in the first quarter of 2016, driven in part by its $1.28 billion acquisition of FCI Asia that was completed at the beginning of January.
