Wallingford electroparts manufacturer Amphenol reported fourth-quarter profits of $167.9 million on record net sales of $1.26 billion.
Profits were up nearly 20 percent from $140.4 million in the same quarter of 2012. Diluted earnings per share grew from 88 cents to $1.06 year over year.
For fiscal year 2013, Amphenol booked $638.7 million in profits, or $4 per share, up from $559.5 million, or $3.44 per share.
The company completed four acquisitions during the fourth quarter — buying GE’s advanced sensors business for $225 million, Ionix Aerospace for $35 million, Tecvox LLC for $45 million and Hangzhou Jet Interconnect Technology Co.
For 2014, Amphenol expects revenue between $5 billion and $5.12 billion and earnings per share between $4.15 and $4.27.
