Amphenol named a top 5 global vendor

Amphenol, based in Wallingford, has been named a top five vendor in the global connectors market from 2016 to 2020.

The designation comes from Technavio, a global technology research and advisory company. It reported the global connectors market is in a consolidation phase, with major vendors concentrating on mergers and acquisitions to increase their market share and broaden product portfolios. Top vendors hold a majority of the market share, and stood at close to 59 percent in 2015.

Technavio said Amphenol is one of the largest manufacturers of connectors worldwide. The company serves various industries such as automotive, broadband communications, commercial aerospace, industrial, IT and data communications, military, mobile devices, and mobile networks. In 2014, Amphenol accounted for sales of $5.3 billion and was expected to be the fastest-growing company in the market with its rapid M&A activities.

Amphenol reported fourth-quarter net income of $202.6 million, or 63 cent per share, compared to $194.8 million, or 63 cents per share, in 2014. Annual net income for 2015 was $772.3 million, or $2.43 per share, versus $715.2 million, or $2.25 per share, in 2014.
