Amphenol Corp. names new board member

Amphenol Corp. of Wallingford recently announced that Rita Lane has been appointed to the company’s board of directors.

Lane has more than three decades of experience building and leading global hardware operations and supply chain teams, according to the company. She retired from Apple Inc. in 2014, and had most recently served as that company’s vice president of operations. Previously, she worked at Motorola Inc. and IBM.

R. Adam Norwitt, Amphenol’s CEO, said Lane brings a “wealth of experience” to the company.

“Her broad technology experience, together with deep expertise in the global technology supply chain, operations and manufacturing will be extremely valuable as Amphenol continues to grow around the world,” Norwitt said.

Amphenol designs and makes electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors, interconnect systems, antennas, sensors and sensor-based products and coaxial and high-speed specialty cable. Its products are used in a variety of industries, such as automotive, communications, aerospace, industrial, and information technology.
