American Savings Foundation COO to succeed Davison

New Britain’s American Savings Foundation said it has chosen its chief operating officer to be its next president and CEO.

Maria Falvo has worked since 2000 for the private foundation, which uses its $85 million endowment to provide grants to education, human services and the arts organizations with an emphasis on the needs of youth and families.

Falvo will succeed David Davison, who is retiring at the end of this year.

American Savings Bank, which was later bought by what is now TD Bank, created the foundation in 1995.
