E-commerce giant Amazon said it will hire 2,000 positions in Connecticut as it prepares for the 2024 holiday shopping season.
The positions include full-time, part-time and seasonal roles. Nationally, Amazon plans to fill 250,000 positions, of which 1,000 are in the Hartford, East Hartford and Middletown metropolitan statistical area.
In the Hartford area, Amazon has posted openings for warehouse associates at its facilities in Manchester, Windsor and North Haven. The starting pay ranges from $19.50 to $21.90, and positions are available across five shifts.
The jobs are being posted on a rolling basis at amazon.com/localjobs.
Seasonal Amazon jobs may offer a chance to become a full-time employee when the holidays are over.
Seasonal employees have access to benefits like health care from their first day on the job, as well as a 401(K) retirement plan with a company matching program. Seasonal employees who stay at Amazon can see an average pay increase of 15% over their first three years with the company, Amazon said.
The company also offers a free benefit offering mental health and financial services and support for employees, their families and their households.

Amazon said it has invested more than $9.5 billion in Connecticut since 2010. Currently, it is moving ahead with plans to build a massive warehouse in Waterbury near the Naugatuck line.
In 2023, Amazon opened new warehouses in Glastonbury and South Windsor.
