A.M. Best Co. said Tuesday it upgraded issuer credit ratings for Travelers Group and several of its property-casualty insurance units.
Best lifted to “aa” from “aa-” the credit ratings for Travelers and affiliates, Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. of America in Hartford and Travelers Casualty & Surety Co. of Europe Ltd. in the United Kingdom.
Best also affirmed the financial strength ratings of A+ (superior) of Travelers and its Hartford and UK affiliates.
The outlook for the issuer credit ratings has been revised to stable from positive, and the outlook on the financial strength ratings is stable.
Best upgraded the issuer credit rating and senior debt ratings to “a” from “a-” of Travelers Co. Inc., the New York insurer with major operations in Hartford. The outlook for the ICR has been revised to stable from positive.
Additionally, A.M. Best has affirmed the financial strength rating of A+ and issurer credit rating of “aa-” of Travelers Guarantee Co. of Toronto, Canada. The outlook for both ratings is stable.
