A.M. Best Co. positively affirmed ratings on a handful of life insurance units for Windsor’s ING U.S., removing a potential cloud from the units in the wake of a recent $850 million recapitalization.
Best affirmed the affirmed its financial strength rating of A-Excellent and issuer credit ratings of “a” of the key life insurance entities of ING U.S., the holding company for the U.S. operations of Dutch financial giant ING Group NV.
The ratings had been under review with negative implications.
The ratings review covered: ING Life Insurance and Annuity Co. ; ING USA Annuity and Life Insurance Co.; ReliaStar Life Insurance Co.; ReliaStar Life Insurance Co. of New York; and Security Life of Denver Insurance.
