Allstate launches ‘aggressive’ recruitment campaign

Allstate Insurance Co. said it’s launching an aggressive push to hire 75 new insurance agents in Connecticut over the next year.

The insurer said growth and demand is driving the decision.

“We are aggressively targeting qualified professionals,” Ed Norcia, the company’s Northeast strategic deployment leader, said in a statement. “If they don’t have an insurance background, we’ll provide them with comprehensive education and the resources to help them get off to a solid start.”

Of the 75 planned hires, 25 would be agency owners and 50 would be licensed sales producers, Allstate said. Agency owners own and operate their own business, and often hire at least two workers, the insurer said. Owners need a minimum of $50,000 to invest in the business.
