Insurer Allied World Assurance Co., with operations in Farmington, is beefing up its kidnap and ransom/extortion coverage by offering policyholders daily online intelligence on travel security issues and global trouble spots.
Bermuda-based Allied says it has teamed with red24, a security consulting firm with operations in London and Cape Town, South Africa, to provide the security intelligence round the clock.
Red24 also has a response team that springs into action when kidnappings or other security threats arise, Allied said.
Allied says it offers individual coverage of up to $25 million for managers and executives who travel to less-developed countries and regions.
