Insurer Allied World Assurance Co. Holdings Ltd., with operations in Farmington, said Thursday it won approval from Lloyd’s of London for a new syndicate to underwrite property-casualty coverage in Latin America and the Asia Pacific region.
Allied World said Syndicate 2232 will begin writing on June 30 select product lines, which include international property, general casualty, professional lines and international treaty.
A unit of The Capita Group PLC will manage the syndicate, whose active underwriter will be Darren Powell, an officer in Allied’s reinsurance unit in London.
