Manchester-based Allied Printing Services has completed installation of a 1.4 megawatt solar system on the roof of its facility.
The 4,591-panel array will provide 17 percent of the electricity to the 275,000-square-foot facility.
The environmental benefit of the system is the equivalent of powering 145 home per year or planting 27,000 acres of trees.
New York City installer EnterSolar put in the system. Allied expects a payback on the system within five years.
