All-Star Transportation of Waterbury has purchased Sikorski Bus Company LLC of Burlington.
Financial details were not disclosed.
The deal allows All-Star to expand its school bus service to Burlington and all of Regional School District 10 on Burlington and Harwinton. All-Star Transportation already provides school bus services to most of the town of Harwinton.
“Fifty years after taking over the family business and providing great service, the owner of Sikorski Bus Co. was ready for a change,” said Leslie Sheldon, co-owner of All-Star Transportation. “As another family-owned company already providing service to schools in the region, this was a perfect fit for us and the communities we serve.”
All-Star Transportation is owned and operated by the Dufour family, which has been in the school transportation business in Connecticut for more than 45-years. All-Star Transportation is the largest privately held school bus company operating solely in Connecticut, providing school bus transportation services in Litchfield, New Haven, Hartford and upper Fairfield Counties.
On July 7, Hank Sikorski would have marked his 50th anniversary as head of his family’s bus company.
Hank’s Garage in Burlington, located at the Sikorski Bus facility at 227 Spielman Highway, will remain open for business.
